Inspiration for my Editorial Shoots

For my editorial shoots, I was heavily influenced by Givenchy's previous shoots. I had to comply with the style of the shoots when thinking about my designs, as they are supposed to fit in with the brand. For my daytime look, I was unsure about what I wanted to do, so looked around on Pinterest to help spark some ideas. I came across this top image, which caught my eye as the use of bleached brows and a statement lip is so striking. I also liked the look of a neutral palette, and this is something that Givenchy usually use within their designs. This image inpsired me to create a neutral base, focusing on warm brown tones. I wanted to use bleached brows within this look as it is a feature within two of my other shoots. I wanted to create an alien look for editorial, so I decided that instead of a dark lip like this image, I would use a white lip colour. The second image was inspiration for the actual shoot, as I am hoping to get three or four models to model for me in the shoot. I like the way that the viewer feels as if they are being stared at, it is quite a haunting feel, and this will enhance the makeup look. The third and fourth images inspired me to use jewels within the editorial look, as in editorial you can be a lot more dramatic than in advertising. I found both of these images beautiful in their own way, and they made me want to use jewels on the face and maybe within the clothing. I would like to, instead of filling the face, frame it with the jewels with a central headpiece on the forehead. I think that using jewels will help to convey the theme and feel of the brand. I would like to shoot both images in the space of ruins, there is a location which I am familiar with that I think would be appropriate. I think that by shooting on location, in these ruins will enhance the Gothic feel of the brand.
