Here are some of the photographs that I have taken for the Advertisement Day look. I have edited each one into black and white, as well as colour, to see the effect of each one. Givenchy's Advertisement shoots are typically in black and white, however, I prefer some of the images in colour. The shoot went really well, as I found a photographer, Amber Cutts, who photographed all of these images. I found this shoot really enjoyable, and think I have a group of suitable images that I can submit. I have slightly edited the skin on these images to create an even texture, and have cleaned up any blemishes that I did not want to be seen. I also used the healing tool to get rid of any flyaways in the hair, as the hair was wet and as it dried some bits of hair started to come out of place. I think I have managed to collect a range of photographs, from fun, to glamourous, to beautiful and to seductive. My favourite images are the black and white image from below, as I think the makeup looks really effective in this, particularly the dewy skin. The highlight is captured and stands out so much better in black and white, and the white background contrasts against the brunette hair which I also really liked. I cropped this image to fit Emma into it, and used the rule of thirds to do this. I am always unsure as to where is the right place to crop images, however I think that the way in which I have cropped this is effective to place the focus on the makeup. Another image that I like is the sixth image down in black and white. I think that this is a little more dark and seductive, and I particularly liked the way I rustled the hair about so that it was brought into the face. I decided to use a white background for this shoot as it is typical of Givenchy to use a white background. I think that this helps to push the subject towards the viewer, and places all of the focus on them. I am really pleased with this shoot, however I think that the makeup is a little too subtle for this shoot. I think I should have maybe teamed the makeup and hair with a white item of clothing to soften the look a little more, as I think against the black it seems more dark than soft and light. However, I think I have some really good images that I can use for the hand-in, and still think that these images are suited to the brand.
