- Prep the skin using cleanser, toner and moisturiser.
- Prime the skin with Illamasqua's Hydraveil.
- Conceal any blemishes and dark circles using Kryolan Camouflage Palette.
- Mix together the RadianceVeil by Illamasqua and Bobbi Brown Foundations in Alabaster and Warm Sand.
- Apply to the centre of the face and buff outwards, including the neck and ears.
- Apply Translucent powder to the areas of the face that you do not want to appear oily - nose, chin, forehead.
- Contour the face using Illamasqua's Contour Palette.
- Highlight the high points of the face using Kryolan GlamourGlow Palette.
- Using a mixture of concealer colours, (green, red yellow), brush through the brows to give appearance of 'bleached brows'.
- Brush mascara through the eyelashes.
- Apply false lashes, and coat heavily in mascara.
- Using the black LipMix by MAC, coat the lashes roughly to achieve a clumpy look.
- Using fingers, squeeze lashes together.
- Mix together a nude lip colour to compliment the model's skin tone, and apply over the lips.
- Apply MAC Shine to both the eyelids and the lips to create a glossy look.
- Move onto the hairstyle - Wet the hair at the roots.
- Blow-dry the hair backwards so that the hair falls away from the face.
- Dampen the hair again and brush backwards.
- Section the hair into two - from the temples in a V formation.
- Brush the lower section into a sleek ponytail, applying more water if needed and secure.
- Brush the top section into the ponytail and secure.
- Wrap a section of the hair from the underside of the ponytail around the band to conceal.
- Braid the hair in a three-strand plait and secure.
- Spray the hair thoroughly with hairspray.
- Spray the hair with Kryolan's Pearl Grey Hairspray.
Here are some of my images from the timed assessment. I am really pleased with the outcome of these images, as I think the makeup works together really well. I think that the contrast between the bleached brows and the wispy, clumpy lashes works to my advantage, as initially the lashes stand out, but then the absence of brows makes the viewer question the look. The look is slightly alien which to me gives off the same vibe that Givenchy's makeup does. I wanted to entwine together the beauty and the darkness, and although this is not dark in the sense of colour, it is in the proportions of the face. By removing the brows and enhancing the lashes, it plays with the proportions of the face. This is further enhanced by the scraping back of the hair, which shows the model's head size and shape. I decided on a nude lip as I did not want to take away from the lashes, and I find that this also works well. The pearlescent grey hair colouring was chosen due to the use of Givenchy's monochromatic scheme within their clothing, but also due to the trend of pastel hair. I am really pleased with the outcome of this look. For the assessment, I bought with me two sets of eyelashes, as I was concerned as to what set would suit my model's face better. After applying the first set, I realised that they were too heavy and were closing up my model's eyes, so I had to swap them for the lesser set. This set me back in time, but I am pleased that I made this up by applying the lashes and letting them set whilst I completed the hair, and then went back to coat them in mascara and lipmix. Originally, I just wanted to cover the lashes in mascara, however, I thought that the Lipmix added to the glossy clumsiness which worked well in the final images. I am pleased with how this assessment went, and feel that I was hygienic, neat, and stayed within my given time-frame.
