During our session with Kat, I decided to practise the evening Advertising look that I have designed. This was the first time that I had created this look, but feel that it went well. Practising this look beforehand has enabled me to change my idea slightly, as I feel this look may be a little too bold for an advertising campaign. I think that I will now not include the bold lip, but may instead add a hint of indigo and gold, and leave the eyeshadow as the statement of this particular look. I also experimented with using hair mascara by Kryolan, which I felt was a little too patchy, so I have decided that I will now use concealer to conceal and 'bleach' the eyebrows. I used the dermacolour palette for this look, which I will swap for a more natural skin base such as the Bobbi Brown Foundation, which will enhance her natural skin tone rather than completely conceal this. I will still use the dermacolour to cover any blemishes, as this product is really good for concealing and correcting. I am pleased with the outcome of the eyeshadow, as I was worried that the colours would not blend together very well. I used the Coastal Scents 252 Palette which has been my first palette that consisted of bright shades, it was not very expensive but the colours are highly pigmented and easily blended. I would like to lower the angle of the eyeshadow slightly, as from a front view it seems to curve upwards with the shape of the face, however I would like it to be a little more straight. I used masking tape to create the sharp line, whilst the top is blended into the skin. I also used concealer on the lashes which stands out from the dark purple shadows. I think that although I am bleaching the brows and eyelashes with the concealer, it works as an advertising shoot as it is still glamourous. I wanted this look to continue Riccardo Tisci's and Givenchy's style, so I chose a dramatic eye shape, and the bleached brows enhance this. I needed this advertising shoot to be dark, glamourous and sell a product, which I think I have achieved if I make slight adjustments to this look. I decided to use the blue and purple together to keep in line with both the trend of blue hues in makeup looks, as well as Givenchy's own Spring/Summer 2016 makeup collection which involves vivid and pastel colours. For the hairstyle, I was not sure what I would be doing, so I decided on practising a sleek ponytail with a large, high quiff. Givenchy are very high-fashion, and I wanted to entwine this idea with an advertising look. I feel that the height of the quiff works, as the audience can take inspiration from this and create hairstyles for themselves with smaller versions of this look. I now need to alter my face chart for the final look, and begin to shoot my ideas.
